Book Review For J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan In Kensington Gardens & Peter And Wendy

“So come with me, where dreams are born, and time is never planned. Just think of happy things, and your heart will fly on wings, forever, in Never Never Land!”- J.M. Barrie

I’ve always loved Disney’s take on Peter pan, there are very much similarities, however J.M Barrie’s original telling of Peter Pan brings to you how Peter the boy who never grew up came about. Being two books in one tells Peter’s first coming of fairies and his very first flight. Being an older book the language is at times a little hard to understand, but over all I loved the book! Peter was really just a boy who never wanted to grow up, being afraid to grow a beard, and have an office job like every other boy does when they grow up. All your memorable characters are there just as you remember them in Disney’s Peter Pan, James Hook being the vengeful villain that he is towards Peter. My heart broke as I came to the end seeing that Wendy grew up, leaving Peter as still just the boy who came to her window all those years ago to fetch his shadow and leave with a kiss. Peter Pan will always be one of my favorite childhood stories, and I’m proud to say I own several different copies of this wonderful book! Four Star Rating **** to this classic story :]]
